It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you this week.
I am Eduardo Sanchez and I am the first IAP for the Sales and Marketing office for Lufthansa in Caracas, Venezuela, where I come from, in fact. I have been working for Lufthansa since May 16th, 2007, which means that very soon I’ll be having 6 years in the company. Times goes by so fast! I’ve lived many experiences, made a lot of trips and have learnt from many different departments and there’s more to come. I am very sure of that.
Being all this time in the company made me learn a little bit of the different areas, including check-in and baggage tracing at the Caracas Airport, ticketing and Customer Relations, where I worked during five years. In August 2012 a new opportunity came up and I was encouraged to apply. It was all about the IAP program which was very interesting and challenging for me. As I’ve seen in the blog, you have read a lot about the selection process so I will not say too much again about it but I only can say that it is a hilarious experience. So many feelings involved at the same time! Nervousness, expectations, excitement all mixed up!
In my case I had a first interview at the local office in Caracas and you might be asking: Why if I was already part of Lufthansa? Well yes, I had to do all the process just like if I did not work for the company before! I had to fly to Bogota in Colombia for a second interview and the third one was in Frankfurt where I had the amazing opportunity to share with two candidates: one from Brazil and a funny guy from New York. After the final interview the three of us received the exciting news of being accepted in the program, so now we are colleagues, classmates and friends.
We are now part of an amazing group of 15 people from different parts of the world and we are proud to be together sharing the same experience.
The aviation industry is full of amazing stories and experiences that are the highlights why many people decide to join the airlines. Not only because of the standby travel discounts but as well the people and cultures you will be able to meet and learn from.
What I liked the most of this great opportunity has been the growing professionalism about the processes of the company in a higher level and get to know more people from all over the world.
During this week I’ll be posting about my new friends, learning experiences and some more …
My wishes for you to have a wonderful week!
