Hi there and good morning from San Francisco!
My name is Julia and I am an intern at Lufthansa Technik Component Services (LTCS) in SFO for about 5 months now. But before I start telling you about my time here I would like to introduce myself:
I am 24 years old and I have a Bachelor Degree in Business Economics with focus on Logistics. Two years ago I studied at the Vancouver Island University and I completely fell in love with the West Coast as well as the international experiences I made. After great experiences during my work at Airbus, my internship and Bachelor Thesis at Lufthansa Technik (LHT) in Hamburg, I decided to also gain some practical insight in Logistics. Because I really enjoy working in the airline industry and working abroad, I applied for an internship at LTCS in San Francisco, USA. After a telephone and personal interview, I luckily got a YES!
LTCS is a subsidiary of LHT – one of the world’s leading providers for aircraft related services. LTCS has three locations in the USA and offers a broad range of performances for aircraft components. Here at LTCS in San Francisco we serve Virgin America with a so called “TMO” (Total Material Operation) product. Virgin America has its headquarter just a few minutes down the road from our office.
My tasks during the internship are kind of split: Project Management and Logistics / Supply Chain Management.
In the following blog entries I would like to share some of the great impressions and experiences I made and take you with me on my business trip to Florida – Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the journey! ;)
Best wishes, Julia
